About MusicAnd Music Pedagogy
This new website "Musicpedagogy" is the actualized / updated version of my homepage "MusicAnd" that isn't online any more by Multimania. Due to technical site issues MultiMania is temporarily unavailable ('We will back soon'), it seems to be unavailable for ... ever.
In November 2000 I started MusicAnd as a personal website to create an international platform for music educational innovation.
MusicAnd is divided in different areas. The new website will be conserve.
About MusicAnd - now titled the MusicAnd/Music Pedagogy website - I want to share my 40 years of research, experiences and affiliation to the innovative world of music education.
MusicAnd (aka Mplus or M+) is a NON-PROFIT website that tells about attractive, alternative, most unknown or undiscovered realisations and ideas related to the holistic music educational world.
Of course, the "M+" content isn't the result of an objective approach. Further, I don't pretend to complete research and information about all remarkable official and international initiatives.
I'm very involved by elementary activities which are fundamental for artistic and music related competences and attitudes, without learning traditional skills first.
"MusicAnd" is constantly in expansion as a personal engagement for your music educational challenges.
An important aspect of "MusicAnd" considers the integration and participation of researchers, experts and music educators of different matters. I continue to invite MusicAnd GUESTS to post special contributions.
Contributors who participate in this website FOR FREE, are:
Ad Linkels (ethnic music and dance education, Netherlands);
Harry Koopman (piano technology, Netherlands);
Klaus Runze (holistic piano teaching; Germany);
Tonius Timmermann (sound education/music therapy, Germany);
Claire Renard (L'éveil musical, France);
Peter N. Wilson (Hear and Now: improvisation, Germany);
Stefanie Stadler Elmer (research about childern's singing, Switzerland),
Alvin Curran (about spontaneous music, Italy);
Job ter Steege (Worlds of experience, Netherlands),
Hildegard Westerkamp & Andra McCartney (sound ecology, Canada),
Fiorella Cappelli (Children for Opera, Florence).
I'm expecting new contributions from UK, Canada, USA, Australia and other countries.
However, don't be deceived: practically all the pages are mine. When the content of a page is delivered by an other author, it is clearly annonced (GUEST).
To exceed the language barrier in this international website for music educational innovation, I prefer to use English as mean of communication. However, most of us do not have English as their native. For that reason I hope that you appreciate my efforts, and also that the written language and the linguistic errors will not disturb you. I prefer contributions written in English or in dual version: in native and English language. If the English version about important contributions cannot be delivered, we don't exclude music educational issues in a language other than English, to avoid gabs in this music pedagogy innovation projects we like to promote.
Consulting the MusicAnd ATELIER, all users are encouraged by all musical energizers in this ONLINE "biotope". All practises are created to evoke and explore sensitivity, imagination and open mind in terms of sound and music education.
To force innovation and realistic improvements, all ground breaking topics in the 'MusicAnd' HOMEPAGE (aka MusicPedagogy) are related to both, theoretical fundament and practising: MusicAnd ATELIER, MusicAnd BASICS, MusicAnd PIONEERS, MusicAnd READER, MusicAnd ARCHIVES, MusicAnd TIPS and FLASHES (brings short actual events or items together in a news corner).
To facilitate your search in our website, you can use the ABC-INDEX of all actual topics available in the MusicAnd SITEMAP.
Don't hesitate to CONTACT : communicate your experience, your appreciation and additional information. I created a special FORUM (BLOG) for music educational innovation.
The design of this website was taken simple, without sophisticated features. I would like to make downloading "M+"pages as easy and fast as possible.

© Release on Weebly 2014 Version 2.0: February
- Originally released on Multimania.com 2000-2013. Version 1.00: Nov. 2000 /1.5: Februar 2001 / 1.7: June 2001 / 1.8: April 2002 etc.
Professionally, I was a university college trainer teacher for music education (LUCA - School of Arts/Lemmensinstituut, Leuven Belgium) and also for other disciplines to teach (KHLeuven, BE). I'm specialized in general education, creativity on school, new didactic methodology, new media education, cultural education, and last but not least the theory and praxis of music pedagogy.
In the eighties, I was an editor-in-chief of a Flemish magazine for alternative music and information (Muziekkrant). More as twenty years ago, I developped a new music and art website (http://users.skynet.be/P-ART/) with collaboration of P-ART related artists from all over the world. I have published about innovative music and cultural education (look at: academia.edu). I organized colloquiums, and actually I stay supporting workshops, meetings and actions about music educational innovation. Searching for meaningful and up-to-date activities for sound, music and new media in the classroom, I 'm still engaged in alternative workshops for music educators (iPad and music in school).
In the 1980s, I released my album 'Meta' (LP), I composed music for a play (Voyage to Civita, BKT Brussels). I developped new projects, music and dance performances and installations. In the 1990s, I published the double soundsets for a digital wave synthesizer (ESQ1). In 1998, I brought my personalized non-profit web site about my own holistic artistic world on the internet: paintings, poetry, improvising, intuitive composing, sound objects, sampling, piano, synthesizer, ethnic instruments, MIDI control and computertools to make music and visual arts. In the last ten years, I released also a P-ART project (12 Portraits) on multimedia CD + booklet, the New P-ART Piano Book, and " White as Piano" (DVD).
