THE DOLPHIN AND WHALE SOUND SYNERGY
1. The Little Dolphin
for one or more persons
First, listen to the little dolphin (click>MP3 fragment 1)
Answer the little dolphin. Address your fantasy and communicate with the dolphin that you'd like to adopt. LISTEN AGAIN (MP3 fragment 1).
Discuss which voice is the best to be in touch with the dolphin? Which message would you like to transfer?
Using a microphone and controlling the effect of an amplifier, equalizer or effects sound machine (SFX), you can narrow, blow up and morph your voice into a dolphin sound.

Finally, search for friends to communicate in dolphin-like language. Enjoy.
2. The Whale
In the clear water of the ocean you can't see farther than 50 miles/30 kilometres. The eyes of a whale aren't bigger than those of a horse.
Fortunately, under water a whale can hear the sounds of other whales more than hundreds of miles away. Like a bat, the whale can only "see" by sending sound waves which reflect, come back from the objects in his environment. This system is called 'echolocation'.
Listen to the extract of the whale song (click>MP3 fragment 2).
You can try the shortest part of the whale song (click > MP3 fragment 2.1) .
Observe the differences of timbre and pitch of the dolphin sounds.
3. The Dolphin and Whale Sound Synergy
Load and play the sound of the waves (click>MP3 fragment 3).
One person keeps control of the computer for playing the wave sample.
Split up in 4 groups, dispersed in the room. Create alone or with your group a whale- and dolphin-like music of about one minute. Try it out. Listen if you respond fully to the sounds of your peers.
Record your dolphin and whale synergy. Add some reverb (soft, app or tool) to the soundtrack.
ADDITIONAL INFO
The Greek word SYNERGOS means WORKING TOGETHER. The ancient Greeks were quite aware of the law of synergy, the law of increased energy through partnership.
Already 2400 years ago, the Greek philosopher ARISTOTELES has discovered that whales aren't fish but mammals. Dolphins are a sort of whales. In the Ancient Age (4000 BC- 476 BC) they were saints. Murdering a dolphin was even worse than murdering a human being.
Today, GREENPEACE and other organizations cover the protection of whales and dolphins around the world. The global voice for the protection of whales, dolphins and their environment is The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (<click). At the Dolphin Research Center you can even adopt a whale or a dolphin (click>http://www.dolphin.org). The Dolphin Institute (Honolulu, Hawaii) is dedicated to dolphins and whales through education, research and conservation.
